Sardinia has much more to offer than beautiful beaches. Budoni is an excellent starting point for many excursions – for example to San Teodoro, the mountainous area around Nuoro, Orgosolo, the Costa Smeralda or Santa Teresa Gallura, from where you can even continue to Corsica.

Restaurants in and around Budoni
Symposium: Very close to the house and within walking distance – particularly convenient if you prefer to leave the car at home in the evening.
Su Gustu: An informal trattoria and pizzeria in the centre of Budoni serving Sardinian and Mediterranean cuisine.
Ristorantino Lu Stazzu: A small restaurant in Budoni offering Italian and Mediterranean cuisine as well as traditional Sardinian dishes.
Shardana: A restaurant in Tanaunella/Sant’Anna serving Sardinian and Mediterranean cuisine as well as pizza.
A little further away:
Il Rifugio in Nuoro: An interesting place to experience traditional Sardinian cuisine. Among other specialities, you may have the opportunity to try the rare Sardinian pasta “Su Filindeu”.
Activities
Beaches and water sports
There are numerous opportunities for windsurfing, kitesurfing, SUP, kayaking and snorkelling around Budoni and San Teodoro. The beaches around San Teodoro and Capo Coda Cavallo are particularly well known.
Scuba diving
The Blu Infinito Diving Center in Capo Coda Cavallo offers scuba diving, snorkelling and diving courses in the Tavolara – Punta Coda Cavallo Marine Protected Area.
Motorboats and boat trips
One of the best ways to discover the coastline is by inflatable or motorboat. Various boat rental companies and organised boat trips are available in Porto Ottiolu, San Teodoro and the surrounding area. Depending on the type of boat and engine power, some boats in Italy can also be rented without a boating licence.
Shopping
Budoni itself has numerous smaller shops. For a larger shopping trip, Olbia is a good choice. The city is home to the Centro Commerciale Olbia Mare, with numerous shops and a large supermarket.
Getting here by plane
Olbia Costa Smeralda Airport is approximately 25–30 minutes away by car. During the summer season, there are numerous direct connections from Germany, France and Switzerland, including flights to and from Basel, Stuttgart and Strasbourg.
